This might be the most valuable dating tip I’ve ever given, and I guarantee not one woman reading this has heard it before. You’re welcome in advance, and yes, I accept the invitation to your wedding in The Bahamas.
Every woman I talk to these days tells me the same story of how impossible it is to find a man who embodies the traditionally-masculine characteristics they desire:
- Freedom-loving/responsible
- A natural leader
- Smart / Knows how the world actually works
- Protective
- Cares about his (and your) health
- Long-term thinker / Wants to build a family
- Financially-secure
What if I told you there’s a place you can go to find TONS of men who embody all of these characteristics, that neither you nor any of your girlfriends have ever thought of going to find dating potentials?
I’ll cut straight to the chase, then we’ll dive deeper into each of the above valuable male characteristics, and WHY you will find so many men who embody these traits in said place.
That place is:
BITCOIN MEETUPS.
What Is A Bitcoin Meetup?
Bitcoin meetups are in-person events held across the world (spanning practically every major city at this point), where Bitcoin enthusiasts and newbies alike come together to talk about Economics, History, Self-Improvement, Freedom, and how Bitcoin fits into all of these ideals.
(If I’ve already lost you with this curveball, hang in there…I promise it will all make sense by the end of this post.)
I’ve had the pleasure of attending Bitcoin meetups in several different cities in multiple countries (Austin TX, Nashville TN, Miami FL, Cancun 🇲🇽, Medellin 🇨🇴, Buenos Aires 🇦🇷, among others), spanning all different sizes, from just a few people in a bar, to 3 straight years of The Bitcoin Conference notching over 30,000 attendees.
They’ve all solidified my confidence that, more than any other male-heavy community I’ve spent time in, these men truly embody the most valuable masculine characteristics I outlined above.
(And before anyone calls me out for being sexist, yes, of course there are tons of AMAZING women in Bitcoin as well, but it’s no secret that Bitcoin is still a male-dominated field. For this post, we’re going to focus purely on why these men rock so much, and why more women outside of the Bitcoin world should consider this as an added bonus to get more involved in the space)
The Bitcoiner Stereotype – Misconceptions vs. Reality
When the average person thinks of “Bitcoiner”, they probably think of some mix of the following:
- Antisocial sweaty nerd who spends too much time on the internet in his parents’ basement
- Degenerate who’s obsessed with making money and/or gambling
- Ultra-radical libertarian/anarchist who can’t stop ranting about tearing the whole system down
Don’t get me wrong, there are certainly Bitcoiners out there who hold some of these traits (my own friends would definitely put me in the third one 🤣), but the Bitcoin community is far more diverse than these stereotypes would lead you to believe. In reality, the Bitcoin-sphere is a thriving ecosystem full of incredible individuals who care deeply about creating a better future.
Now, let’s review those high-value traits I outlined earlier, so we can dive into each and explore how and WHY each of these characteristics are so common among Bitcoin enthusiasts:
- Freedom-loving/responsible
- A natural leader
- Smart / Knows how the world actually works
- Protective
- Cares about his (and your) health
- Long-term thinker / Wants to build a family
- Financially-secure
Bitcoin Men Are Freedom-Loving/Responsible
If there’s a single word that describes the desire of all Bitcoiners, it’s FREEDOM.
Bitcoin at its core is freedom technology, allowing its users to transact freely with each other, without state encroachment. In addition, many are also passionate about Nostr, another freedom technology which embodies this same ethos – removing middlemen and bringing back personal RESPONSIBILITY and self-sovereignty.
The more bitcoiners you talk to, the more you realize that this community is fearless when it comes to cutting off these common “training wheels” society gives us, in order to take full control of our own lives, our own families, and our own future.
And what woman doesn’t love a man who takes control in this way, and charts his course toward a self-sovereign life, where you can allow him to fully embrace his masculine desire to lead?
Speaking of leading…
Bitcoin Men Are Leaders
With great freedom comes great responsibility, and with great responsibility comes the desire to lead oneself, and those they love.
The lack of leadership qualities has to be one of the most common complaints women have about modern men, and for very good reason; I see it everywhere myself.
As testosterone levels have fallen off a cliff in recent decades, so has men’s tendency to take the leading role in relationships. This forces women to take that leading role, which they don’t want to do, especially not in a relationship.
The feminine energy desires the masculine to lead, and you will find that in spades among Bitcoin men who LOVE taking that leading role.
As explained above, Bitcoin so often leads men to finding their inner Leader, as that is the natural second-order effect of following the path of self-responsibility.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve met dudes at Bitcoin meetups who became inspired by this technology and the freedom it granted them, to pursue new projects, build new things, and chart a new course for their life. Once you go there and start socializing, you will see what I mean!
Bitcoin Men Are Smart, And Know How The World Actually Works
Bitcoiners are the definition of rabbit-hole divers who are obsessed with finding the truth in every area of life, and they do not care what any naysayers have to say about their seemingly-radical views.
I can speak from personal experience on this one, and I’m very much in the majority:
After reading The Bitcoin Standard, and realizing that everything I’d ever known about money/economics was a lie, it sent me on a never-ending learning journey to figure out all the other things I’d been lied to about. This journey continues to this day (over half a decade and a podcast later), and I can say with confidence that I owe this explosion in curiosity/drive for knowledge to Bitcoin.
Here’s all you have to do:
When you’re at ANY Bitcoin meetup, just ask any man there: “What’s your favorite conspiracy theory?”
Then sit back, and enjoy the mindblowing show of first-principles thinking that pours out of his brain, which is sadly so rare in the modern world.
(WARNING: I should also mention that Bitcoin men are even more logically-wired than the average man, so do your best to keep your emotions in check, and engage in these conversations with as open of a mind as possible to what they have to say. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the position of having a Bitcoin friend tell me I’m completely wrong about something, have an immediate negative emotional reaction, then by the end of the conversation with them, realizing that they’ve actually done way more research than me, and questioning everything I thought I knew on the subject. We live in a crazy world where indoctrination runs deep, so hear them out, no matter how crazy it may sound at first. Bitcoiners are the best in the business at using first-principles logic to break down the false beliefs pushed onto us by the corrupt bureaucracy that wants us weak, sick and confused about anything and everything.
Bitcoin Men Are Protective
One meme immediately comes to mind for this one…

It’s part of the Bitcoin ethos to be very protective of your coins, and along with this, you’ll find Bitcoiners gain a larger sense of protectiveness over ALL the things they hold dear, including their loved ones.
In addition, as Bitcoin men have a much stronger than average understanding of how the world works, they also understand the dangers that are out there, and the importance of protecting their lover through the chaos.
For this reason, it’s very common for Bitcoiners to get into the MMA/fighting world. (The most recent Bitcoin Conference in Nashville even had side events for Karate and Jiu-Jitsu!)
For more on why there’s such a strong overlap between Bitcoiners and Self-Defense/Protectiveness, my podcast with UFC legend Kenny Florian is an excellent resource, as it breaks down how Bitcoin has a fascinating tendency to unlock men’s inner warrior.
Bitcoin Men Care About Their (and your) Health
As Bitcoiners go down the proverbial rabbit hole, it is extremely common for them to become obsessed with health and diet.
Why?
Because out of all the detrimental effects that’ve come from a corrupted monetary system, the healthcare world might be the most destroyed of all. Practically everybody knows that modern healthcare is atrocious, but very few understand the root of the problem. Bitcoiners do, and they are VERY passionate about fixing it, starting with themselves.
For more on this strong link between Bitcoiners and Health/Diet, check out my podcast with Matthew Lysiak, author of “Fiat Food” 👇
What it all boils down to is, when you become a Bitcoiner, you start to expand your horizons on the beauty the future holds, as for the first time ever, you’re able to take a deep breath and audit every part of your life. And what’s the most common aspect of one’s life people take a closer look at when self-improvement is front-of-mind?
HEALTH.
Bonus tip: You can instantly impress a Bitcoiner by using the term “time preference”. Popularized by Saifedean Ammous (author of The Bitcoin Standard), “time preference” is basically a fancy way of encapsulating the above. (High time-preference = only thinking about the present moment / low time-preference = thinking long-term)

Speaking of long-term thinkers…
Bitcoin Men Are Long-Term Thinking / Want to Build A Family
“Family is the most important. The reason we’re into Bitcoin is not that Bitcoin is the end itself—it’s because of what we believe Bitcoin enables. And for a lot of us, peace, a prosperous life, and having a family—that’s why we’re truly in it.”
—Michael Goldstein
Fiat money disincentivizes starting a family.
The debasement of money makes the future more uncertain.
When it’s harder to plan for the future, people are less inclined to start families.
— Jackson (MacroJack) (@macrojack21) December 21, 2022
As so many people worldwide are discovering as they claw their way out of the misconceptions of Fiat World…there is no better way to solidify your long-term legacy in this life than building a family.
It’s no coincidence then, that one of the biggest stereotypes Bitcoiners hold is that they have TONS OF BABIES. (No joke, literally while scrolling Nostr in between writing the above few sections, I saw the news that the legend Guy Swann just had his second kiddo with the Mrs.! Congrats to the Swanns!! 👶❤️)
So, dear reader, if you’re looking for a man who can’t wait to build a beautiful army of government-disrespecting munchkins with you, I can’t recommend a better place than a Bitcoin gathering, where the vibe of the group is always BUILDING THE FUTURE 👨👩👧👦🏡
For a deeper dive into the intimate connection between Bitcoin and the revival of the family unit, I highly recommend looking into the work of Jimmy Song. Jimmy has put out tons of excellent content covering this topic, including a podcast episode with yours truly 👇

Bitcoin Men Are Financially-Secure
“Of all people in the world, Bitcoiners care about money the most. Not in the form of greed, but in the form of love. A love greater than a romantic love. A love for humanity.”
—Erik Cason
Last but not least, we can’t talk about Bitcoin without acknowledging the financial component.
But I do want you to understand: contrary to popular belief, this is NOT the primary concern of the vast majority of people I’ve met in Bitcoin. I can say with full honesty that of those I’ve met, the financial component is toward the bottom of the list in importance compared to the other characteristics on this list.
That said, YES, when you go to a Bitcoin meetup, you will be surrounded by men who have a head start on the future of finance, which is looking very likely to pay off in a big way very soon.
Of course, I don’t want you to go in there asking people how much Bitcoin they have, but you can be fairly confident that at the very least, the folks there with experience in the space will be better positioned for a strong financial future than the average man on the street.
NOTE: Keep in mind that in addition to the above, Bitcoiners are known to be extremely frugal, as they are passionate about stacking as much Bitcoin as possible. So, if you’re the type of woman who wants fancy dinners, daily rose bouquets, and a limousine escort on every date (looking at you, Gifts love languagers…), Bitcoiners will rarely fit this bill. However, if you’re focused on building a long-term relationship and are happy to be patient when it comes to these materially-luxurious benefits, you can rest easy knowing that your future self will be rewarded for sticking it out.
How Do I Find My Nearest Bitcoin Meetup?
The meetup scene is constantly fluctuating, so you may have to do a little research to find the nearest one to you. The following search engines/apps are where I recommend focusing your hunting. (Note: for the first two bullets, make sure you refine your search to a BITCOIN meetup, not a “crypto” or “blockchain” meetup….the reasoning on why is a post for another day, but in a nutshell, these are a very different, less masculine crowd)
- Google: “[YOUR LOCATION] bitcoin meetup”
- Meetup.com: Search “Bitcoin” near your location
- Download Orange Pill App. They have a dedicated page for meetups, and in addition, it’s a great way to meet individual Bitcoiners in your area as well!
- Twitter and Nostr: These 2 social media networks are the primary online bases for Bitcoiners, where you may find a dedicated account for a local meetup near you, the organizer, some of the frequent attendees, or all of the above. An added bonus on Nostr is that you can use the #AskNostr hashtag to ask the community directly if they know of a meetup in your area.
(If you haven’t heard of Nostr, I highly recommend diving into that world – TLDR it’s the future of social media, and Bitcoiners are locked into it)
- Satlantis: Speaking of Nostr, Satlantis is a new Nostr-powered social media app which may very well be the future #1 hub for Bitcoin meetups. To scan it for local meetups, go to their website, create an account, search your city, then check the “Events” tab for upcoming events. (For more on Satlantis, check out my podcast with the Founder Aleks Svetski, diving into the insane potential of this new social app)
Once you’ve found a meetup through the channels above, mark your calendar, then on the day of the event, bring a few friends if you want, dress nice, and roll in with an open mind, ready to learn! That last part is really important. I can’t emphasize this enough times – you shouldn’t go into these things purely to meet men – you should go in curious and willing to learn about Bitcoin! I promise it’s a wild and exciting world, full of all sorts of rabbit holes that will completely change the way you look at life.
What if I can’t find a meetup near me?
If you’re in the rare camp of being in a location without a meetup group, START ONE! This is how every Bitcoin meetup began at one point, so this is a great opportunity for you to become a legend in your community’s Bitcoin adoption history. If you choose to go this route, I can guarantee that if you connect with any Bitcoin meetup organizer from other cities (which you can find through the channels in the previous section), they would be happy to assist you to help make the process easier. But don’t stress about it being a daunting undertaking…it can be as easy as shooting out a few texts to friends who are down to meet at your favorite restaurant to read Bitcoin articles together, then if it goes well, creating an event page on one of the above channels, and striving to make the group a bit bigger with each consecutive meeting!
In addition to the above, if you aren’t in a city where it’s easy to grow your own meetup group, I recommend looking into the bigger, more established Bitcoin CONFERENCES. These are running in lots of different countries now, and as someone who’s gone to several of them, I can attest that it is always an INCREDIBLE experience, which I would recommend to everyone. It may take a bit of travel on your end, but these big conferences are a rare occurrence, and always worth it. (Plus you may meet people there that live near you, so you can get that grassroots movement going in your community!)
Final Notes:
- Like I said at the top of this post, we are in the very early days of Bitcoin, and the space is still VERY male dominated. This gender percentage will trend closer to 50/50 as Bitcoin and its community matures, so if you’re a single women who wants to take advantage of the maximum amount of options with the least amount of competition, the sooner you can get involved the better! The golden era of being one of the only women at Bitcoin events (and thus getting a natural boost in attention), will not last forever
- Something I want to emphasize again is that, while I did write this post in a bit of a joking tone regarding going “husband-hunting”, I want all the ladies out there to know that in all seriousness, I strongly encourage that you DO NOT go to any Bitcoin meetup with the sole goal of getting husbanded up. I want you to enter with an open mind on Bitcoin itself, since as so many women I’ve met over the years have found, there is ENORMOUS opportunity for you to apply Bitcoin into your own life, and find that it has a tremendous amount of crossover into the more feminine aspects of your experience in this world. Plus, due to the fact that the space is so male dominated, the women you do meet there will be the cream of the crop in terms of amazing FRIENDS to make in the space, who will be more than excited to help you along your Bitcoin learning journey!
For more on how Bitcoin empowers/uplifts women specifically, listen to my first podcast with DJ Valerie B. Love, and check out her podcast as well, where one of her primary themes is how Bitcoin is helping empower women across the world.
That’s about it, everyone! I hope you enjoyed this post, and make sure to share it around to help spread the love ❤️
